Staff Pharmacist – All Locations

Due to our company growth, we are seeking Full-Time Staff Pharmacists.

Schedules are made out 30 days in advance.

The Staff Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescribed pharmaceuticals and providing information and counseling to customers while maintaining outstanding customer service and safeguarding company assets. Must be self-motivated to achieve professional metrics, knowledgeable MTM provider, must be an immunizing pharmacist and dedicated to the growth of patient care within the changing dynamics of the pharmacy profession.

The pharmacist has overall responsibility of the pharmacy.

• Practice the profession of pharmacy in a manner consistent with ORC Chapter 4729 and all state and federal laws and regulations as amended and promulgated.
• Identifies current and future customer requirements by establishing rapport with potential and actual customers while providing excellent customer service.
• Utilizes alarm code upon entering and leaving pharmacy.
• Completes store operational requirements by scheduling (not applicable to floating pharmacists) and assigning employees and following up on work results.
• Maintains store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees (not applicable to floating pharmacists).
• Maintains store pharmacy staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
• Interpret, data enter, review, fill, check, dispense, and accept responsibility for prescriptions written by physicians for our patients.
• Prepares or supervises the preparation of liquid medicines, ointments, powders, tablets and other medication.
• Checks prescriptions for correct dosage and for drug interactions and incompatibilities.
• Compounds prescribed medicines and packages and labels them.
• Stores and preserves vaccines, serums, and other drugs subject to deterioration.
• Prioritizes pharmacy tasks and follow through to ensure all tasks are completed in a timely manner.
• Assists with maintaining the Pharmacy by keeping it clean and in order.
• Maintains records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries of poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.
• Ensures availability of merchandise and services and maintains inventories.

Qualifications/Experience for the Staff Pharmacist:

Pharmacists must successfully pass mandatory background check, possess a pharmacist license in good standing with the state of Ohio, be Immunization Certified through an organization that meets the requirements established in OAC 4729-5-36, and receive and maintain current certification to preform basic life support procedures by successfully completing a basic life-support training course certified by American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Distribution Center – Medina, OH

Discount Drug Mart Distribution Center is now hiring Team Members for full-time (Monday thru Friday, day shift) – general labor positions with consistent scheduled hours. Multiple positions available in multiple departments.

• Abilities Needed: move cartons onto pallet or into a pallet rack location; must be able to repeatedly lift items ranging from 10-50 lbs.; possess basic math skills; and be a team player. Previous RF Scanner and tow motor experience a bonus!!!

This general distribution position offers an opportunity to work in order fulfillment, receiving, replenishment and stocking functions. Training may require certification to operate powered industrial equipment, such as forklifts, order pickers, reach trucks, and powered pallet jacks. May be required to follow direction from a voice picking system, or operate computerized scanning equipment (RF scanners).

Central Fill Pharmacy Technician – Avon Lake, OH

Are you reliable, hardworking, and willing to learn?  We have an opportunity for you!  Drug Mart Health Solutions is seeking full-time or part-time team members in a state of the art central fill facility in Avon Lake, OH.

Under the supervision of a pharmacist, a technician will fulfill prescription orders, prepare packages, and distribute medications in a fast-paced production environment.  Additional responsibilities may include inventory management and operation of automation-related equipment.  A technician must be able to work well individually and in a group setting.  Opportunities for advancement are available.    

Education, Experience, and Qualifications

The applicant must be 18 years of age or older with a high school diploma or GED equivalent.  In the state of Ohio, certification and/or state registration is required to work as a pharmacy technician.  DMHS may hire individuals prior to them obtaining the necessary qualifications for registration – while supporting them through the process.
